So, has anyone here bought a bum eShop card?

First of all there must be a form of wireless wifi or you must have a cable to plug into a usb wire to a usb port connected to wifi, the usb wire is usually bought separetly from the system if you do not know and if the place have wireless wifi the don`t worry about it. It's actually activated at the register when paid for by default. The moment the payment goes through the computer recognizes it as legitimate to personally activate. Every card has to go through the computer first. Why would they make em so easy to grab otherwise. Put the card in the trash sparky. Recently i have been scammed by some1 on Craigslist for a xbox live card, i bought it for $25 and when i entered the code it says 'code must be activated at register' so i assume i was sold a stolen card:( I have emailed the guy and he wont respond.

I picked one up on Wednesday from EBGames and when I tried to activate it I got an error code that isn't even listed on Nintendo's support site. Called them up and it turns out that the card wasn't properly activated so they told me to go back to the store. I went back to EBGames yesterday and they told me there's nothing they can do about it and to call Nintendo back. Nintendo disagrees, but told me to scan both the card and my receipt ant email or fax it to them.

This is a bit much for a $20 card.

What happened when (if ever) you got a card that didn't work?

EDIT: Bloody hell. I just had a look at the receipt and I thought something didn't add up so I looked at the back of the card that did get authenticated. Turns out the guy didn't actually give me an activated card. He had said something during the transaction about one of the two cards already being used, so he swapped it with another card. What he ended up doing is not activating the second card, as the first card is the one that's listed on the receipt!

I called the store back and when my wife gets home from work I'm going down there to get the card replaced.

EDIT 2: Got the card I actually paid for, have the $20 in my eShop account. All's well that ends well.
